McKinney Vento Tutoring "During the School Day"
JOB GOAL Tutors will focus on providing instructional support to identified students demonstrating learning loss or gaps in English Language Arts.
QUALIFICATIONS Holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement; Has strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and Meets health and physical requirements.
REPORTS TO Building Principal and/or Designated Supervisor FLSA STATUS Non-Exempt SCHEDULE 3-8 hours per week Semester 1:December 2, 2024-December 20, 2024 Semester 2: January 6, 2025-March 7, 2025
EVALUATION Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of state law and the Board’s policy on evaluation of the Director of Schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Tutors will focus on targeting learning loss or gaps while providing instructional
- support for identified students.
- Tutor small groups of students in English/Language Arts
- -Grades K-5 up to 3 students
- Use curriculum materials provided by the district/school.
- All tutors must complete district-provided tutor in-person training.
- Tutors will complete daily tutoring logs.
- Tutors will track student attendance.
- Tutors may work at different site locations based on need.
- All time worked will be logged into the WCS time clock system.
- All retired educators must complete TCRS forms.
- Organize and maintain supplies, materials, and workspace.
- Complete parent communication forms.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This job may require lifting or carrying of objects that exceed fifty (50) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: 1. Pushing and/or pulling 2. Stooping and/or kneeling 3. Reaching and/or handling 4. Talking 5. Hearing 6. Seeing 7. Climbing
